Scratch Removal Question

There have been methods described on the forum that consist of using abrasive papers and tapping them with a light hammer to cover the scratches on the stainless. I've never heard of a method to cover the marks on the aluminum because they have partially removed the anodizing.
If the marks on the slide bother you it would probably be easiest to have it bead blasted.
Personally, I'd shoot and carry it enough for the new scratches will blend in with the old.

I have some of those same scratches on a couple of my matte finished 3rd gens. I don't like them, but I'm not going to do anything about them. Just about any kind of fix recommended has the potential to make things worse.
Don't think of them as scratches, think of them as character lines.

You MIGHT want to play around with scotch brite. I have never done it, but may work to hide scratches SLOW & EASY does it Bob

What about the baking soda/baking powder idea?

Scotch Brite works on brushed finishes. The common green matches my Taurus 1911 perfectly. I have to keep reminding myself that some marks are normal. If I don't, I end up touching it up every time I shoot.

Thanks for all the replies, I think I'll follow loeman's advice. They're not too bad and I'd hate to make them worse, which is what would probably happen.
Those little jagged scratches on the matte finish of some of my stainless 3rd Gens drive me crazy too. Someone recently mentioned soda blasting and I'm looking into that. But as others have said, the potential to do more harm than good makes me cringe and tread very lightly into that arena. And anything that changes the finish from original matte to something else (like brushed or polished) is very likely to decrease the value of the gun. Truth is that I am always willing to consider a SS 3rd Gen with a few scratches, but I wouldn't even think about buying one where the finish was changed or butchered though excessive blasting. Would you? It's something to think about.

They are just normal wear and signs that you use it as it was intended. I`d leave it alone any attempt to "fix" will make it worse.
