I have loved scrimshawed knives and "objets de art" for many years. Sadly, I lost my entire collection, meager though it was, in my 2018 fire. All I have left are the pictures. However, after acquiring an "antique mammoth ivory" knife to begin the collection anew I found a scrimshander in Nantucket and he did these for me on that new knife:

I'll post the ones that are gone in a second post. I do still have these revolvers, however:

I am a fan of scrimshaw work and a collector of Barlow knives. You have a very nice example of both!

I love scrimshaw. Sorry to hear you lost so much in the fire.

I have a very few pieces. Pocket knife with scrimshawed turkey gobbler that my two boys gave me for Christmas about 25 years ago. Set of ivory grips from my S&W .32 Safety Hammerless. And a piece of real art from a scrimshander in Alaska, done in color on a piece of ancient mastodon ivory set on a base of ancient walrus ivory.

It all depends on what it is on. I have a few knives and a few firearms.

The Deluxe Texas Sesquicentennial Commemorative had beautifully scrimshawed Ivories on it

Esmeralda O'Sheehan does beautiful work on grips. Several years back she created these grips for THOR, the long slide 1911 chambered in 10MM Auto that I built

Hopefully, Rick Bowles will see this and put up some of his 'gems' most likely on a Randall!
He's been their scrimschander for many, many years. :)

Here's a Randall TriAthlete with a scrim by Rick Bowles of a red wolf!
