Does anyone know how to disassemble the SD 40 striker assy? Also does anyone tear theirs down for cleaning and if so, how often?

check out apex's youtube channel and search for the sd spring kit install, it details the teardown and reassembly procedure.

When you say "tear down," it is not clear if you mean normal field strip or a complete detail strip.

You do not need to do anything other than what is in the instruction manual unless you drop the pistol in the mud or something. Otherwise, the chances are greater you will actually damage something that is working properly by attempting a complete disassembly.

I checked out a video on you tube. Appears the striker assy is Very easy to take apart. thanks to all.

I have done it but its something you really shouldnt mess with unless there is a problem as mentioned there is a vid online

Basically take slide off, look at striker you will see a plastic sleeve just in front. Push that towards the front then simple slide rear cover off.

Install depress firing pin block put striker in push sleeve forward then install back cover.

Same as M&P I believe
