There is an alarming lack of pictures in this thread.

here ya go. Sorry for the crappy pics, they're from my Iphone. I still have to go over the lettering one more time to make it as white as I want it.

I love my sd40. I only have 200 rounds through it, but I haven't had any kind of problem. I love the way it fits in my hand. It felt better to me than the m&p and the glock 23(i originally was shopping for a glock) did. Trigger is not horrible by any means IMO. Apex is coming out with a trigger kit for the SDs. I emailed them and they told me the were in the process of it.

Why mess with the trigger on an SD.It seems fine to me unlike the sigma.A good shooting gun don't mess with it.

Well I bought myself an SD40 and put 200 rounds through it in two range sessions of 100 each. It does fit quite well in my Comp-Tac Gladiator M&P holster. The trigger is different than the M&P in that it feels a smidge longer & a tad heavier. A good trigger in my opine for a self defense weapon. One I could leave in the nightstand and not worry about a family member being able to use it if needed in my absence, unlike a 1911 or a 3rd gen Smith. Pick it up, point it, and squeeze. Just the way I like it. Accuracy is good, but not M&P level. But the weapon is "new", so I can not say I am unhappy with it's target ability as most pistols of this type improve a bit during the first 500 firings. Fed and fired all 200 with no hiccup. Ergonomics are great. It comes to hand naturally and feels great when point shooting. It is a great value too boot. I dig it.

I would like opinions from those folks who have spent some time with the SD40. I am trying to decide between that and another M&P full size (.40).
It's use will be range / home defense, so it will get used much.
Opinions from those who have both M&P and SD would be great.
I know the M&P well and the sole reason for considering the SD is price. And it's just a bonus that it uses M&P mags and fits in an M&P holster.

"Reggie Dunlop," - I just have to ask, "How are the Hansen Brothers and Joe McGrath?"

:)

Seriously, the M&P is, in my opinion, a better choice due to the shorter and lighter trigger, which helps in both range and defensive shooting, although the SD trigger is far and away better than the SIGMA, and the price of the SD is such you can throw in a case of ammo and really shoot!

Shorter and lighter trigger also helps to cause accidental fires. There is nothing wrong with a slightly longer, heavier pull for accuracy as long as you know how to shoot. Also in the self defense situation when your adrenaline is pumping the longer pull might just save a life, one you don't intend to shoot.

Sorry to say Joe went to the big rink in the sky. The Hansens worked as consultants to both President Bush's and are now running youth hockey seminars in Canada. Ned Braden came out of the closet in '85 and I got Francine to take me back a year later. Been together ever since.

Now that's funny! Good show!
