Hello! I got a used SD40VE and I love the overall feel, except the trigger pull was terrible. I had an issue where sometimes when I shot, the slide would lock back even with another round in the magazine. I thought maybe a lighter trigger would help, so I installed an Mcarbo spring kit. Trigger pull is 100% better, but the slide still locks back. I saw several posts related to this in the forum, but didn’t see any answers that helped.
Doing a little more looking around, it appears that as the trigger is pulled it rubs the slide lock spring wire and lifts the mechanism just enough to often hit the slide. (See picture) I’m trying to think through my options and would like some opinions/direction? The two options I can think of are to bend the slide lock spring wire over a little or file a little material off the trigger where it is hitting. I suppose third I could do a little of both. I definitely don’t want to make the pistol unsafe. Any suggestions are appreciated.
UPDATE: I ordered a replacement slide lock arm and installed. That seems to have fixed the issue. No more locking open while shooting.
