So my buddy and I are at our local range today. He took his MP -15 out and I took my SD9VE. We are the only 2 there (it's cold out, but it's a good day at the range).
I shoot my SD9VE on the 30 and 40 yard lanes and I'm plugging along. My buddy heads over to the 100 yard lane and starts clanging steel. I come over and he gives me a couple shots to try. I went 5 for 5. I proceed to stand up and deliver the next 3 right on target. I then load my SD9VE with 5 and proceed to hit 2 out of 5. Load 5 more for him, and he goes 1 for 5.
He then moves over to the 150 yard lane and he's plugging along - just killing the steel with the MP-15.
He looks over and says "wanna see if you can hit it with the SD"? I say, no I'll just pass and aim on the 180 yard lane steel targets (bein a wise ***).
We both smirk and I proceed to load up 5 rounds. First shot miss, 2nd shot miss, 3rd shot and we hear a very faint tink of the steel. We both look at it each other and start laughing. Now I know this isn't an impossible shot - but for me, it's an absolute miracle.
We proceeded to shoot another 100 shots between us, with the SD9VE.
Never to hear that faint tink on the steel at 180 yards again.
Needless to say it was a great day at the range with a buddy shooting S&W firearms.
