So. Now that your head is exploding because you saw "glock" lol... I feel I need to say I love my SD9VE and it was the first new sidearm I've ever owned :)

I am trying to decide on what to get (style/brand/mag type) in an AR9. I respect your opinion if you're not a fan, I have a 5.56 and it's just cheaper in 9mm.

Also, for the same reason they had winmag rifle/revolver sets in the same cal, I want the mags to fit either the side arm or the rifle. I am unfamiliar with the excessive variety in the civilian market, and it is just a lot to sort for my super busy life. I need to know if the SD9VE mags are close enough to the glock mags to fit in a "glock style mags" lower for an AR9?

So, I am here to consult with the experts...

I want an SD9VE with 7 factory mags. I also own. 3 GLOCK 17 factory mags I picked up because I love GLOCKs and plan on having a few someday. As far as I can tell, the magazines are not compatible.

No where near close. And as far as I know no one makes a carbine with an SD mag

Most popular 9 carbines that use a pistol mag are going to be Glock and Beretta. Some older carbines use A&W 59xx mags

Is there an SD mag adapter for a 9mm carbine? I have seen other 9mm blocks for 5.56 versions.

Would be more cost effective to buy a bunch of GLOCK magazines.

Hmm... I'm torn. I really like the concept of dropping one of my pistol mags into the rifle if needed. I want the cross functionality. If I have to go to glock for that, I'd be a bit disappointed. I like my SD9VE. It's a durable lil *******, and pretty awesome.

SD are not that popular. Not enough to make proprietary rifles for or spend the money to make an adapter.

If you have a 556 you already have a cheaper option. You already own it. However, you're willing to spend $500 - $1000 (that's anywhere between 1.5 and 3.5 cases of 556) on a rifle to sometimes save $0.15 cents.

Fair point, but the other reason was the versatility. Anyhow. Thank you for your input.
