View attachment 147356 Got my new SD9VE about a week ago and heard some rumors about the mag. it's a 16 round mag. but the 16th round is kind of hard to get in the mag. and the mag. is harder to load in the gun than a mag. with 15rds. Is this something that will work it self out with break in or should I settle for 15+1

Thanks

15+1

I have same issue, and have three mags for mine. I suppose the 16 means 15 in the mag and one in the chamber,

Welcome to the forum to both of you!

The 16th round will go in, but it's difficult at first. It gets easier as the mag gets some use on it. If these are new mags, load them up with 15 and keep them loaded, eventually #16 will go in. I was able to get 16 in mine (it's new), but I had to get mean with it at first.

I have the sd40ve. I struggled with the 14th round until I bought the uplula mag loader. Piece of cake now.

Hi & welcome. Yes you can keep working with them & you will be able to get 16 in but then you will or may run in to what I have.
That is the mag with 16 is harder to load in the gun & chambering the first round does not feel right. I went back to 15 thats enough for me, if I can not get the job none with 30 or 45 rounds then I don't think 2 or 3 more is going to matter.
Enjoy shooting your SD9ve I have for 2 years now & be safe :)

When I got my SD9VE last year it was hard to get the 16th round in at first. After a while the magazine spring was broken in and now it's fine. I also have the Apex +3 mag extension on one magazine and have no problems to load it to full capacity. I also have no issues seating the fully loaded mag and chambering a round, even when the slide is not locked back.

-I had the same issue putting 14 rounds in my SD40 VE at first. But after leaving them loaded and shooting it a few times, it has gotten a bit easier getting all 14 in the mag by hand...

Matt

While I can load 16 rounds in the magazine with the UpLula, I like to load my SD9VE magazines with 15 rounds. That way, it takes 3 rows of 5 rounds out the box...and doesn't leave a partially used row. ;)

On a serious note, I really do load my mags with 15 rounds. I find insertion and feeding a little smoother, and as previously noted, if I can't "git 'er done" firing 15, then I should have already run for it!

I have the same issue with the magazine that I bought, I can only get 15 bullets loaded into it. Glad to know others have this issue.

I heard a guy say that he likes to have all 16 rounds in his mag. If he cant get the job done with 15 rounds, he has one left for himself..... lol....

Ive been able to fully load all 16 rounds into my SD9VE since the day I bought it.... Never had an issue....
