SD9VE magazine problems

You will experience this with almost every semi-auto to one degree or another. I've it in many, but never found it to be a big problem. If nothing else, it tells you that there are good strong springs in S&W's mags. They will relax a bit with use as everyone has said. I can't see the problem here. Are you saying you barely have the strength to push a fully-loaded mag into the gun? If so, the remedy has been explained above. The mag spring will relax a little eventually.

Just picked up my brand new SD9 and no way in heck can I get that 16th round in those new mags. So I figure I"ll just keep the 15 in them for now. Beside if I can't stop something or someone with 15 rounds it really don't matter.

It took a month or two for me to get all 16 to fit in both mags, it will happen for you in time. If you happen to be impatient, make that mag take the last round, it'll go but it will take some effort. One it's a full mag, let it sit for a week or two. That last round won't be such a bugger.

I seen a video on YouTube a older gentleman posted. He showed the inside of the mag and all the components. If you look at the follower in the light you'll notice about a 16th of an inch maybe little more of access material. You can take a fine piece of sandpaper or really fine toothpick file and take that access off. It helps a little bit. Other than that the guys saying to load the 16 and let it sit are offering up the only other solution.

The "16+1" is a marketing gimmick to beat Glock, that's all. While the spring may loosen up over time and you can jam in one more round to make it 16, I just load 15 in the mag and be done with it. NEVER cut magazine springs for any reason, it'll only cause problems.

Gotta load 15 or slap the bottom. My 4006 TSW is the same, the 11th round of .40 makes it hard to load the mag all the way in.

Some guns they have almost enough space to add an extra round or two erroneously if you were using a mag loader. Using a mag loader I could go 34 rounds in my 32 round UZI mags. That gun does not like extra rounds and the mag gets stuck. What I'm trying to say in short is some manufacturers give you enough spring to have loaded to intended capacity and not fight to get the full mag in. Gotta remember civilian model guns for the longest were pretty much built for load mag, slide open loads and no +1's. It took about Gen 4 Glock for them to stop telling you to not walk around loaded chamber. Taurus still kinda does preach open chamber unless absolutely needed.

Holy Resurrection thread, Batman! Oh well, I've got 16+1. When the mags were new, I did the prescribed load 15 and let it sit for a week or two. Then good to go. Did this with 7 factory mags. All hold 16 rounds now.

I got mine barely used and both mags are simple. My 4006 TSW CHP even with academy red base training mags still fight me for the 11th round.
