I just sold a used one in a private sale for $300 in South Carolina. It had an Apex trigger, Galloway SS return spring, Talon grips. Included all original cardboard box and papers. Cosmetically flawless and looked like new, even though it had about 1500 rounds through it. Locally, they go for about that same price new, without all the after market stuff of course.

It is a really good gun for the money, and I thought the Apex trigger improved it.

I looked into trading mine in and upgrading. The dealer only offered me $100.00 for it. It has a Apex spring kit, Galloway SS guide rod and Truglo sights. I kept it !

Are you buying it? If so, are they a friend? A LGS? Pawn Shop? Or, are you trying to sell said gun?
In the link below, you can get a brand new SD9VE for $300 or less, after all fees.
Smith and Wesson SD9VE Stainless / Black 9mm 4-inch 16rd Fixed Sights

At your local ACADEMY SPORTING GOODS, you can buy a brand new one for the same price as GAG, give or take a few dollars, depending on your local sales tax.

Now, if it's you and you're buying it, offer them $300 total. If they want more, show them this post with the stated prices.

I think the perceived value on used SD-VEs is pretty crazy. Right now I can go to a LGS and buy one for $289. That's what I paid for mine new and I know they never had them listed for more than $325 through the last year.

Now, two weeks ago at a gun show, I saw at least three different used SD-VEs going for $325-350 with no added extras like holsters and whatnot. Ridiculous. With no history of the gun, they laughed at me when I offered $250 cash. I laughed back when I told them anyone can get it new from a store 6 miles away at the price above.

Where I live in the stores they are asking 349 new

You should just keep it. They are great pistols. I have carried various pistols over the years and I have sold some "to big" guns. If it is to big to carry for you, I suggest you try some different holsters first.

bought SD9ve a month ago from outdoor superstore for $267 minus the $25 rebate from S&W which puts it in the $239 range. I really like it after 1000 rounds, about to buy a couple more for the weekend place and the other vehicle.

Most of the "investing" I've done in my sd9ve is in practice ammo. I'm trying to follow Mr. Evan Marshall's advice to "buy the gun, get a good belt & holster, lots of practice ammo and try to wear the gun out" !!! I don't much care for the original trigger, but am getting used to it and how to manipulate it. It HAS smoothed slightly (after almost 6K rounds, LOL) and is more than accurate enough for me. Any accuracy issues are easily traced back to the operator, LOL !!! The sight MUST be replaced AND I DO need corrective glasses. Everything else is basically just more practice & training !! Mine is not for sale, even with the minor issues that crop up.
