Someone on the Revolvers 1980-Present sub-forum posted a picture of a cheap fabric flap holster and asked if it could've been used by Special Forces to carry Model 66/686 revolvers. While I don't think that one was and mentioned the Bianchi M12 (UM84R) model as a possibility, I thought it would be interesting to find out just how users such as SEAL team 6 carried them. I haven't found any pics.

Does anyone here know?

Delta Bianchi

I've seen a couple of references to Delta having used Bianchi nylon holsters including in JB's bio and with confirmation by Red of being aware generally of that.

One of my correspondents on a project was in SF in the 80's. He said that some Delta members doing training with his group were using Bianchi nylon shoulder holsters. He promptly bought one for himself. That was with .45 autos, however.

I recall Model 66 pictures in Rogue Warrior.

I've had that Bianchi flap holster since the mid 80's. Always liked it because it securely holds anything from my Model 63 to my Series 70 .45.

In the late 1980s/early 1990s Delta used G.W. Davis and some other leather prototype tie down leg rigs for their .45s.
In about 1989/1990 I went to the USPSA Regionals in Florida with some Delta guys, and I begged/bought a prototype Safariland 007 which I loaned to them to take back to Ft. Bragg and test. Not sure what they carried after that.
I've shot with SEALS on a range in NC when they were using Model 66s, but don't recall the holster they were using.

I believe Eagle Industries, London Bridge Trading, and Kramer Leather were used by some.
