Hi Guys,
At my age I have most of the firearms I need or perhaps even want. Now I'm looking for those select few. Here is my dream: I want to find a matching set (not serial #'s etc) of revolvers. A 4" N frame S&W blued 45 Colt and the same frame, barrel and steel in a 45 acp which I believe is still named a model 25.
I would want these to be in excellent condition although bluing can be needed.
I realize I can look thru the sell ads here plus post in the forum what I'm looking for and then there is gun broker. Are there other place I should be looking (of course gun shops near me)?
Finally has anyone purchased either of these lately or have friends who purchased them? If so what does anyone have a guess as to costs? Thank you all.

You should be able to find a Model 25-5 with a 4-inch barrel and bright blue finish. This model was chambered in 45 Colt. The Model 25-2 (45 ACP) was cataloged with a 6 1/2-inch barrel and later a 6-inch barrel.

I am kind of in the same boat as you, and looking for the same. Did this for at least a year.
So I gave up! Bought a 625JM in 45acp. (favorite shooter) Then I bought a 25-15 in 45Colt (6.5")
Still looking for a .44 Special off & on. That will probably not materialize.
I have bought a couple guns from Guns America. Good luck with your hunt! Bob

I found a 4" blue model 25-5 last March, lightly used with the presentation case & tools. I wanted a 4" to go along with my 6" 25-2 and I've been looking for a long time so I grabbed it at $900.

The 4" 25-5's are in hot demand over the past few years as well as the 25-9 and 5" 25-7. I hardly see them and they go fast. I have a friend who also collects .45 Cal smiths and he has bought 14 in the last year, and searched over a year for a nickel 4". They made a decent number of them but you seldom see 25s and 625s for sale around me. A nice example with case and tools is $850 to $1200 depending on condition and bluing vs nickel in my opinion. The easiest place to find one is online but the prices will probably be a little higher than a local shop or show. Good luck and sorry mine aren't for sale ;)
