Seattle sues Glock

"The little tab on back of slide is replaced to accomplish full auto fire."

That will be the way Glock gets this suit thrown out. If Glock didn't make this "switch" or incorporate it on their guns, then how can they be liable?

Doesn't matter in this instance. It's ALL about the FEELZ!!!!!!!!!!!!

This suit may win and I'll explain why. In the 68 gun control act it states to be legal a firearm cannot be readily convertible to full auto. The Glock system is readily convertible as it gust requires changing parts. Guns like the AR-15 and AK-47 are manufactured where it takes machineing the receiver to convert them. IMO the Glock would have already been required to change the design if not for the fact that most Federal LE carry them.

My LE career included training in large public disturbances and crowd control. Seattle's history of liberal, violent protests were almost always used as training examples because of the number and size of the protests. It's really very sad that the population there is willing to destroy their own city for some of the things they protest. It's a beautiful city. It doesn't surprise me at all that they would file a lawsuit I don't believe they can win. Kind of like the mayor of Chicago saying his city is safe, but IIRC, has the police department providing 150 officers for his protection detail?

This is exactly what any reasonable judge would rule. Seattle should be suing the manufacturer of the "Switch" rather than Glock. This is purely an attempt by the anti-gun city to inflict financial harm and damage the reputation of the gun maker who has nothing to do with the modification device.
Somebody correct me please, but doesn't Glock make a model 18 that is full auto, just not available in the U.S.?

Haven't seen a thread on this. Seattle is suing Glock over the design of their pistols. The suit says Glocks design makes it to easy to use Glock switches to make their handguns fully automatic. Said switches are of course illegal. The little tab on back of slide is replaced to accomplish full auto fire. Seems Glock as a whole takes a beating from shooters that don't care for their firearms but not to extent this suit enjoys. Any thoughts?
And yet, once more, the ones suing pay NO attention to the criminals. Just like any other anti-gun people, they don't mention, they don't care about, they won't even TRY to stop criminals from plying their craft. Nooooo, just pay attention to the tool that is misused.

Yes, Glock does make the full auto Model 18. It uses a different swich design that is mounted on the side of the slide instead of replacing the rear plate like the aftermarket conversions. Due to the ban on new full auto registrations for ordinary citizens it has only been available to law enforcement and military users in the US. No idea how many might have been sold in the US.

Thank you. Forgot it was a side lever on the slide.

IMHO, it is knowingly frivolous and designed solely to make a political statement and make Glock and the other defendants waste money. Any defense attorney worth a hoot should be filing appropriate motions to dismiss and seeking CR 11b sanctions followed by a Bar complaint (although I have no faith in the WSBA based on what I have experienced with them).

I have lived in Washington State since 1952. In those days It was more than an hour to get to Seattle from Duvall. I was 14, and my parents would take a trip there every couple of months to get something that my Dad needed. Now a days you could not pay me enough to go to Seattle. I call Seattle and King County the Communistic Socialistic Democratic County of King/Seattle. We are California north.
I keep telling people to be careful of what/who you vote for, you are liable to get it!
Actually, Bellevue (just across the water, and the whole eastside) are no better. That is why more people are moving out of the west side to the eastside of the mountains, and out of state.
I shoot at two different shooting ranges here, and enjoy the time spent with other shooting people. Any time at the ranges is a good time.
Sorry for the long winded rant. Us old folks just get frustrated with what has/is happening. You can't fix stupid.
It's really sad. I've never been to Seattle or even Washington state. But they both look pretty awesome. Mountains , coast, seafood and great coffee.

Makes me wonder how many actual shootings there have been in Seattle with full auto Glocks?
There have been remarkably few criminal incidents in which full auto or select fire firearms have been used in the U.S. since the end of alcohol prohibition.

There could be sanctions but most judges don't have the gumption. I asked for terms in a case in which a (criminal) defense attorney filed a discovery motion that would have had to improve to be mindless drivel and clear misstatements of the law, and was flat out denied despite the lack of any legal or factual basis for the motion.
