I couldn't hold back the itch anymore and just picked up the 460 XVR. Has anyone shot Seconds/Blemished ammo in 454 Casull or 460 SW Mag? I found some online about $0.60/rd cheaper than everything else. In my eyes this is completely different than reloads, but I don't want to jack up my new toy.

Thanks for input and I hope online retailer is being honest in description. Can't wait to shoot this one.

As long as the blemishes are only cosmetic you will be fine. They'll be blemished after you fire them anyway :D

Cosmetic blemishes do not impair function. Corrosion would be a problem. Scratched or deformed bullets can affect accuracy.

Blemished ammo is safe to fire but just did not get the "A" grade from the
inspectors and was placed in the "B" grade line to be boxed and sold.

They usually are discolored, a blemish or scrach here and there that is not on
the perfect clean & shiny grade "A" ammo that gets top dollar, for the company.

I buy blemished bullets to reload in my rifles never an issue. It's mostly cosmetic.

I stopped buying blemished ammo when some I was using got stuck in my revolver. I forget what the problem with the ammo was but I'm sure I missed whatever it was because the ammo was blemished and I didn't see it. I would have caught it if the ammo wasn't blemished.

So , I would say it's OK to use blemished ammo but you should inspect it a little more than usual.
