The above is on the left side of 3.25" barrel. On top is "FOR 38 SMITH & WESSON CTGS".
Serial number on barrel, above the five shot cylinder and on trigger guard, 6239.
Trigger guard front, screws in from top. Trigger guard pins in in the rear.
I think it must be early because there are no Patent Dates usually found on top-break revolvers.
I only have barrel assembly and loose trigger guard. I am looking to find out the correct model for these parts.
It may or may not even be a S&W revolver. Thank-You Roger

That looks very much like an H&R in 38 S&W I owned in the early '70s. The top of the barrel was marked identically, and the serial number was on the trigger guard and bottom of the butt. I don't believe there were any markings on the sides of the barrel.
