Secrets of the Bathroom Stall

I just slip my no dash M60 into my slash pant pocket. It is deep enough to conceal a 4 in K frame. It rides in a Lobogunleather Pancake on my right hip the rest of the time.
I have found that it is better to count on method, rather than memory!

Best,
Rick

I carry a 649 in a galco sc iwb holster. When using the restroom I put my legs apart to keep pressure on my pants and slide them down holding the holster. Keep your underwear pulled over the gun to conceal it. When you are done pull everything up and adjust and you are good to go. Oh wait youjust went. Try it a couple of times it works great.

Firearm is left in the holster and it on the belt is folded into the crotch of the pants while using the facility. It is available and will not be left behind.

If you are in a stall with a baby changing station or a fold down baby seat these make excellent places also. I carry OWB so it is really convienent to use these places. Just lay the weapon there don't have to take off the holster.

I will use a urinal in an emergency... but remember to keep pressure on that waistband or your pants are going to be around your ankles with your gun on the floor. (I know this from experience, luckily I was at home the first time I undid my pants when I started carrying)

Outward pressure with your knees should also keep your gun out of sight while seated on the throne. You really shouldn't be hanging your gun or sitting it anywhere not on your person in a stall. Placing it in the crotch of your pants does work well though

This is one question I've never understood. Why would anyone need to remove their gun from the holster just to sit on the pot? I always rest the gun and holster between the knees.

A Transpo Officer took one of the state's "finest" to a Dr's office many miles from the facility. While preparing to leave, the offender was escorted to the bathroom to take a leak. The officer forgot to look before the offender went into the stall and about crapped his own pants because the offender began screaming as he immediately backed out of the stall. The Dr. had left his carry piece on the tank. The crook yelled "Trick bag! You're trying to catch me another case." The officer was given a written reprimand but the Dr. is no longer used by the state of Misery. Offender wrote up a complaint. ?? Why would you put your gun on the tank????

Maybe I'm a germa-phobe, but I'm not laying anything I own a baby changing table in a public restroom. People aren't just laying the babies there so they can use the restroom themself. When was the last time that table was sanitized??

I put my keys on the shiny chrome toilet paper holder once.
Just as I stood up and flushed was when my keys slid off the top of the toilet paper dispenser.

Where do you suppose they went? Yes siree Bob, right into and DOWN the toilet. Never saw them again.

Years ago I was standing at a urinal in a public restroom when two guys in suits with microphones in their ears came in and quickly looked around, then Mr. George H.W. Bush joined me at the urinal trough. I completed my business, washed and dried my hands, and excused myself while passing the Secret Service guys inside and outside the door.

My Browning Hi Power caused no problems at all, but there was certainly a possibility of everyone in the room needing to use the facilities had anyone noticed it. At least they would have been in the right place for that.

You peed next to the POTUS  Did you ask for his autograph?? Did the Secret Service guys, like assist him?? Hand him a towel??? Push the button on the hot air blower??
WOW what a story to tell your grand kids!!

Use a shoulder holster/belly band for CCW-problem solved

I agree with this as a viable alternative. It doesn't have to be your primary carry method, this way the firearm doesn't leave your possession. An inexpensive ankle holster would also work.
(I apologize if this has already been suggested)

I too have a Beltman belt (2 of them) and Crossbreed Supertuck. When my pants go down, my PPQ 40 just stays where it is. As another person stated, I just apply outward pressure at my knees to keep the gear from hitting the floor.

I usually have my weapon in my front pants pocket. My S&W model 38 and my Springfield XDs, either one I am carrying at the time, fits in the pocket perfectly with a pocket holster. No problem when going to the bathroom.

Bellyband is what I carry with all the time. When sitting down, just pull the entire thing up under your pecs, and it stays there. When you're done, push it back down. And there are no issues standing at the urinal, it's not in the way so you just do the work.

As for hanging the gun on the clothes hook, I know of at least 2 accidental discharges that occurred when "professionals" were taking their gun off the hook.

As a rookie, both uniformed carry & off duty, I was taught to remove the gun from the holster & place in crotch of pants. I sure could see someone reaching under to grab it & you are not goingto catch him with your pants around your ankles.
After attending to business, gun goes back in holster, pants & gunbelt hoisted up as one unit. I found it useful to park my butt against the wall of the stall to hold everything in place while buckling everything.
Way too many people forget their piece in the stall... Recently a ranking officer had his weapon go AWOL in the courthouse & he should be just about be getting off suspension w/o pay as I write... the gun was recovered a few days later. The training books are full of instances where gun owners bumped the trigger removing from the hook & surprise!! Safety was OFF!
This is a situation where the most conservative approach is best, & must be flexible enough for all situations. Ritual drills are not just for the training range.

When your old, you have to use the bathroom "out" sometimes.
hate it, but that is the way it is.
That is why Fish on the old TV show Barney Miller wore a shoulder holster, because he was always in the bathroom on the show and the technical adviser on the show was a older NYPD guy, with the same problem!
I have many S/H

Understatement of the year! I'd have thought those secret security boys might have made you. Concealed means concealed - and a good thing in this case.

I know a couple of people who have left handguns in bathrooms. Do not let your pistol leave your possession or you will be sorry. I always teach the pistol in the crotch technique to my criminal justice students and have never had a complaint. I also teach it to pistol permit classes.

A good, sturdy gun belt and a quality holster make a lot of difference. With good carry gear, just carefully lower your drawers, controlling the pistol as you go. That way you're not having to fumble around with a loaded handgun while you're in the middle of a delicate situation.

Carrying two guns in your waist band is a little more tricky. Just avoid *** carry or ensure that the water in the bowl is clean. I now appendix carry a J-frame, and I usually let it rest in the crotch until time to resume my activities.

one thing that I don't think has been mentioned is the affect the buckle of your belt has. It always helps me to make sure that if I am carrying strongside, the buckle is on that side (right) - which really makes a difference on the holstered weapon staying in place vs not. I don't have any issues with it - if it starts to sag a little I can always grab the free belt end and pull it taut and its fine again.
