Great thread on the Seecamp pistol:

My Hero, Larry Seecamp

But I have no idea what the differences are between one made in X, ones made in Y, etc. Can someone expand on how you can tell the differences and, given that question, what do I have?

From 1981 to 2014, all of the pistols were hand fitted in the Milford location. Starting in 2014, Whalley Precision took over production at their Southwick facility and according to the purists, quality dropped dramatically. Milford pistols are in greater demand and more scarce than their Southwick counterparts. I’ve owned a couple of Milford .32s and a Southwick .380. The figment of the .32s seemed tighter than the .380s, but they all performed well in my opinion. I didn’t shoot any of them that much; the .32 silver tips for the original Milford guns were hard to come by, and the .380 was just downright painful to shoot.

As for your pistol, I’m not well versed in serial numbers of the different mfr. location, but on the other side, it will be stamped with the mfr. location.

Only difference I can find is the name of the city. I bought the Southwick gun for my son Christmas of 2015, IIRC. Brand new plus a spare mag and box of Winchester Silvertips was around $550.00. I bought myself the Milford gun in 2017, used off this forum, $425.00 plus $25.00 FFL fee. Money well spent, twice.

Other than the roll-mark and SN, there is absolutely no difference in overall quality; fit & finish, performance, etc. I own a Southwick, my son owns a Milford. We shoot out back on weekends. My Southwick has around 2800 rounds fired, and my son estimates the Milford at around 1500. This is the Southwick :D

I have one of the original hand made guns and a letter from Larry Seecamp to go with it.

The test firing was done in... a closet.

It's my go to pistola when I'm forced to wear a suit.
