This .32 I-frame belonged to my grandparents and is quite dear to me. The last patent date is Dec 28. 1914 and the serial # is 338xxx. Any help dating the revolver would be appreciated.

I've got one numbered 5205xx, that dates to about 1930.

I'm going to guess late '20s or early '30s. Are those grips as nice as they look in the picture? Wow, that is a very nice example indeed!

Nice 32 you have there. Looks to be a very high condition original finish gun. It would be classified as a 32 Hand Ejector Third Model. These were manufactured from 1911 to 1942, with almost 300,000 made. S&W collectors refer to shipping dates and not manufacture dates, and your gun was shipped from the factory in the early 1920s. The 32 Long cartridge is still manufactured by most major companies and should be easy to find online.

man, that is a beauty! i love it!!! i have 330XXX shipped in 1921, so yours was probably shipped very close to then. maybe '21/'22.
