Seldom used or odd words; I'll start

I reckon it's use must be a geographical or cultural thing. It's use is quite common in my neck of the woods.

"Reckon" seems common in the state of Victoria, Australia, where Melbourne is the best known city.

I watch a TV series set in Victoria, and they often say "reckon."

I have a ratty old dictionary, ©1963, that I keep around so that I can look up obsolete words, or the meaning of words back then.

Seems like there ought to be a word for 'old dictionary.'

Concerted is used often enough, but usually wrong. Many, including
talking heads on TV, who should know better, use concerted effort as if
it means something like a powerful or vigorous effort. In fact, concerted
effort is an effort by 2 or more. One person cannot make a concerted
effort.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis - coal miners disease caused by breathing fine quartz dust. I hardly ever hear this word anymore.

Solipsistic: "The belief that the person holding the belief is the only real thing in the universe. All other persons and things are merely ornaments or impediments to his happiness." That about sums up most folks you meet these days. Joe
