Self Defense ammo for MP15-22

Now I know no-one would pick this gun as a first choice for self defense... but if this is your only gun, what ammo would you use for self defense? For the range I use Federal bulk packs...but clearly this is cheap range ammo.... what would people recommend for self defense?

Your .22 may not protect you from home invasion, but assuming you're not too far from your target, it's a great weapon for a zombie apocalypse.

I think if I had a home invasion scenario I would reach for my 870 loaded up with double aught and slugs in the carrier..... thats the prob tho with too many options when I open the safe....the 870...the MP15-T, 9mm. Actually I would prob just reach for my first gun purchase, a S&W .38 special revolver...model 36....

I would use whichever ammo cycles the most reliably. As for using 22 for home defense (if its your only choice), I'm guessing most bad guys will retreat when they receive a face full of 22 rounds regardless of brand, velocity, or penetration.

22 is a choice for defence... remember a human head isn't that thick and doesn't take a lot of depth to kill... if you can consistantly put 5 of them in a target before the next person can recover from the recoil of a 45 then it don't make a bad defence gun... my wife carries a p22 for defence for the
simple fact that she is comf. With it... besides I've never heard a criminal say well they were shooting at me but when I realized it was just a 22 I went ahead and mugged them

Yep, and hope they are to stunned to kill you. Glad the 15/22 ain't my only gun...
