There's always New Hampshire, though it's too close to MA. I'm of the same frame of mind, and have been considering southern MO, WV, eastern KY, and TN. Some of it depends on your definition of "mountains" . Good luck finding a place.

Anyone who doesn’t think the Smoky, Blue Ridge, or Appalachian mountains aren’t real mountains is silly. The highest I believe is over 6600’ with several others over 6000’.

It’s unfortunate the second Bucees is being shoved down the throats of the residents where it’s being threatened to be developed. Typical calirado style. The state has become a craphole.

Edited to add since all mail in voting when hickenlooper was installed as governor has guaranteed calirado to never change back to what it was previously. Just ask Tina Peters how it all works.
