Sending in for service with Apex in there?

My pistol was tested at S&W and they said it was within their specs and they sent it back. Nothing was done to it. My Apex kit is still in there.

They likely just test fired it and found it produced whatever group is within spec for them, so no need to mess with the trigger. When you say "accuracy issues at longer distances", what do you mean? It's pretty hard to prove accuracy issues with a pistol are something other than user error without locking the pistol in a machine rest.

Well if the accuracy issue is not with the gun, that leaves two other places for it to be. One is the ammo. :p

I bought the gun on Friday night, put 50 rounds down range as a test, then to a IDPA Match the next morning. My front sight started moving after about 100 rounds at a IDPA match. I blew at least 2 stages because of it.. I was pissed.. Brand new gun..

I sent my 9Pro 5" back to S&W because the front fiber kept moving no matter what I tried. I tried penning the sight, finger nail polish and blue lock tight. I took all my Apex parts out of it before sending just in case they replaced the slide or entire gun. All they did is replace the fiber front sight. I assume they put some lock tight on it.

It has started to move again. I am not sending it back, but put some green lock tight on it to see if that helps. If not I am going with Dawson or something else.

Someone told me S&W make guns, to sights so..... lesson learned.

I thought I should post my experience on this for what it's worth. The left slide stop broke off on my M&P 9 FS. I called customer service at 800-331-0852. Talked to Peter (X3786). I requested a replacement part so I could replace it locally. He couldn't do that because it was a 'factory replace only' part. I explained that I had a trigger modification done by Burwell Gunsmithing that I didn't want touched and assumed that if I sent the gun to them it would be returned to factory original. He assured me that was not the case, that they would only fix what I described as the problem. He even called the repair person and confirmed that was the case. He told me to put a note in the package with the gun with the problem description and what I wanted fixed and that would be all they would do. He sent me a return shipping label via e-mail which came in some time the next day and I packed and shipped the gun with the note. I received it back today. That's all they did. The trigger system seems to be untouched from what I can tell and the slide stop is replaced. I sent it FedEx on 10/26 and it was returned repaired on 11/3. I'm very satisfied! Can't ask for more than that.

At 7 yds, I was expecting overlapping holes and I am not getting that for the M&P9FS. I am getting that with all of my 1911's and the M&P45FS. My hands were on a support, like every other gun tests.

And, no, I do not have a Ransom Test kit.
