Well here I am, my real name i chuck pierson, I am 77 years old, when I get in with a bunch of old guys I'm the oldest one quit often. Ive been shooting since I was 9 years old, thats when our dad took us out with his old 22 pump, my brother and I became excellent shoots but never as good as dad, he had above avg vision. Our gun safety was strictly taught, if we made a dangerous safety mistake we had our gun taken and a little kick in the butt.
M y interest now is in handguns, I didn't get a chance to shoot handguns as a kid and I wasn't very good. I bought a ruger LCR.38 spl. It can be a hard gun to shoot all ny shots hit the target but nun where I was aiming, some kind soul came over and showed me finger position on the trigger and proper grips. that's when I learned that trigger pull grip and timing is what puts the bullets on target. My grandson gave me his new 9mm shield to take to the range and shoot as much as I like,I completly fell in love with that gun by the 3rd clip, so now I am shopping for my own shield, I carry concealed, it is invisable, I target shoot, it is accurate, I have some arthritis creeping into my hands and it doesn't hurt me. I'm going to sell or trade in my LCR and get the S&W and I can"t wait i

Many here who could use that name as well "senior shooter", myself included. Sometimes old age is a benefit, slow and steady. If ones eyesight cooperates. Welcome to the forum.

I thought that a Senior Shooter, is what they call a guy on as Mexican gun range. Welcome to the forum. This is a good place to come when I can't sleep or nervous or stressed. Lots of good info and sometimes, a little humor. Everyone tells me I'm kind of funny.
Peace,
Gordon

Welcome from Wisconsin!

It's refreshing to find someone older than me. Not much older but older nevertheless, LOL.

My dad took me shooting with his .22 pump & my .22 single shot kid's rifle, too.

Welcome from Tx. Senior shooter .....called a guy on Mexican shooting range. Now that's funny. I didn't get into shooting before my 60's so I don't have anything to compare shooting with now.
I often want to blame my poor shooting on my not wearing my glasses but in reality I think that is far from the reason.
