Seriously, why do so many people...?

"Two apostrophes walk into a bar.." Wait. Wrong thread.
Hey. S.P.. (should I have put that period after writing "S.P." since there was one there already?). If you get mad at rogue apostrophes, you must really hate when people do this...

I think you may be confusing the apostrophe with his older brother quotation.

I guess I am lazy, I thought that forum posts were casual. As long as things are reasonably spelled and get the point across, its ok.

This isnt an English test.

However my favorite thing is the comma and its use like this

No parking here

or

No, parking here

No Smoking

No, Smoking

:)

This is getting like the ride-by news media and the government.A report about a lonely soldier far away being seduced by a set of big boobs and everyone forgets Fast and Furious,Gun Runner,Benghazi, and Lord knows what else
My peeves are you, you're,your, there, their, they're.However knowing guns is a lot more fun than book learning!!

(Why do people) Put apostrophes in words they mean to be plural?

I do it because I am a poor typist. I see people do it so often that my little mind, occupied as it is with the mechanics of keyboarding (different than waterboarding, but related), sometimes confounds itself and does the very things it abhors in the writings of others.

That said, I am much more perturbed by the unrelenting abuse of then/than then any minor butchering of otherwise fine writing with minor punctuation errors. ;)

The use of apostrophes to pluralize words is just another example of dumbing down to the lowest common denominator. If enough people are doing something wrong, rather than correcting they make it the new "normal". Then those who point out the situation are the problem... Legalization of drugs, gay marriage, and on bans on public displays of religious beliefs are just examples of this.

Well, I'm so very, very confused. I was just fixen' to go wax my Mod. 27's and 28's, but I don't know if I can cuz' I'm not exactly sure how many I gots now. I'll hafta go count em' again.

I no whet you meen. Punctuation mistake's are the Devil's behind! I feel so preturbed I'm going to go put on my hare shirt!

It bugs me to. I guess their not bright enough two no the difference between the write words and the wrong words. They're some words that sound the same, butt have too or moor different spellings you can use. Sum people just don't no the difference. Wether or not you use the write word fore the write thing and at the write thyme is up two you, butt it mite bother sum people.

...and the clever so-and-so even slipped in a spelling mistake to see who would spot it. Nice.

The one that torques me the most is muzzle break when they mean a muzzle brake.
