Does anyone have text or knowledge of the assignees whose service/action codes are marked on the outer interior radius of S&W revolver frames, visible when the grip panels are removed? I have a P&R late built Model 29 with nine such codes. It has 100% engraved coverage. Seems that logic would support that there is a code book somewhere that identifies the assignee and action taken which signifies and explains the code marking. The gun is lettered and even though Roy Jinks and I discussed at length and he addressed this issue, we have not found any explanation of the codes.......Would appreciate your comments and or explanation to this matter.
