Guys,

A buddy sent in his 1076 over a month ago and they are telling him they won't even be able to get to look at it until October.

The decocker is a terrible design. The only way I can get mine to reset 100% of the time is to gently ride the trigger forward as after hit the lever.

Is anyone else having issue with their service work lately? Is this solely a third gen or 1076 issue?

They typically run about 6 to 8 weeks for warranty work. However they also usually shut everything down around the end of July for 2 or 4 weeks (I forget which) for vacations, re-tooling and maintenance. Your buddy may be running into the annual shut down time frame. You also may be correct in there probably is a limited number of technicians that work on the older generation guns.

I don't know if they still have them or not . Midway had the parts to rebuild the safeties on the 1076 and other S&W's with the same style safety . I got a couple just to have on hand , all the parts were like $40-45 .

Sent my 6926 in about 3 weeks ago and they said 6-8 weeks on updating the decocking lever. The CS rep I spoke with said it usually only takes about 5 weeks on most turnarounds, so we'll see.
