Easy question, can it be done? I don't have a long colt barrel to measure but it seems as you would lose about six threads in the process, also what is the twist rate of the L.C. as compared to the ACP?

The origianl poster is probably referring to the fitting of a .45 Colt N frame barrel with a shorter shank than that of the .45 ACP barrel on an M25-2. The .45 ACP cylinders are shorter than the .45 Colt cylinders, and the barrel shanks are different lengths.

Yes, it is "do-able". The twist rates should be identical. The loss of a couple three threads on the barrel shank poses no problems.

You'll also have to shorten the ejector rod and center pin, basically the same amount you set the barrel back for the shorter .45acp cylinder. This whole process is the same thing you do if you install a PC length cylinder in a regular 625 for instance.

As tomcatt51 says, you'll have to shorten the ejector rod. If you want to keep the original look you'll need to shorten it from the threaded end. Bowen has the proper tools to do this since the threads are reverse threads and far from standard. He did this for me on my 44 Special N frame. I used a rechambered Model 28 cylinder with a 44 Mag barrel. The dimensional changes are not exactly the same but somewhat close to what you need to do. I can't really tell the difference unless I put it next to my 45 Colt that has an original length rod.
