Setting the Record Straight

There was a thread recently about boot camp. In my post, I stated that my friend Kip had been in the Army, and had given me a heads up about what to expect. I stated that he warned me about head games they would play and how to spot them.

A day after I wrote that, I received a gentle nudge from Above. "He never told you how to spot them" was what I heard. Then, "You need to set the record straight."

Kip did tell me they would play head games with us, and it helped me survive boot camp without too much distress. But he didn't tell me how to spot them.

Every day I ask that I be reminded if something comes out of my mouth that isn't 100% accurate and true.

I also ask to be kept humble every day, and I just had to get that off my chest.

While I think your infraction very minor, Robert, I can understand where you are coming from.

But, beyond that, I wanted to say that it is good to see someone in this day and age who values humility. I believe it is a vastly underrated virtue nowadays. We could sure use a whole lot more of it.

Honesty is a great asset. Seems that it's not practiced very much these days.

You can sooner recognize....

Forewarned you can sooner recognize 'head games' when you encounter them. I'm sure it won't take long to figure it out. I made a mistake early in life. I thought most people were as straightforward as I am and took things first at face value. Boy was I wrong.
