We got four of these at one time. The first two and step forward and another two. One guy tightened up and it produced a rather large gash on his upper arm. Can't remember the shot that put you down for a day. You got the afternoon off in the barracks with no exertion. If you have BTDT, then I need not explain. Our Corpsman had lots of target practice!!
The "Vicious cycle of life in the Corps"...............I suppose it can be applied to all the Services.

Oh the fun we had!
The latrine or the "other" gas room? That and the "Gas" room... remember them well.
We called the GG shot the 100 stepper. Get the shot and 100 steps later you fell down. When I got mine I thought the Corpsman wasn't giving the shot. I felt something cold running down my leg. I turned around and he was really pushing on the syringe. He had just taken the vial out of a refrigerator before giving the shot.Remember the Yellow Shot Cards? I have two of those that are full. 24 years in the Corps and eight overseas tours and a cruise on a carrier. The Corpsman poked plenty of holes in me. The trick to getting shots in the arms was pullups. Find a pullup bar and start, then every time you saw another begin again or pushups.
Anyone remember the Gamma Golbin shot? "A "gamma globulin shot," now more commonly called an immunoglobulin (Ig) or immune globulin injection, is a medical treatment using concentrated antibodies from donated human blood to strengthen a person's immune system or fight off diseases. These injections can provide short-term immunity against certain infections, help manage autoimmune diseases by reducing the immune system's attack on the body, or treat immune deficiencies where the body doesn't produce enough antibodies on its own. ".
We hated them so much we would do anything to get out of getting them. Called the shot "Square needle in left testicle" it hurt so much. Finally "in country" they paid us in cash. You stepped in front of the paymaster to get your pay and there was a Corpsman behind you. You had to "drop trou" and he gave you a GG shot in the glut. Then hobble back to our quarters and put on PT gear and go run. After about three miles you were much better. As F4 Phantom says "Oh, the fun we had!!"
I got the GG shot at Clark Air Base Hospital prior to going to Bien Hoa, VN. Medic gave me the shot, and I swear I left indentations in the wooden table while holding on and bent over. After the shot the Medic asked me how much I weighed, and the next thing I know, I get another injection. Hurt like all get out.We called the GG shot the 100 stepper.
