Shield 1 & plus barrel compatibility

I bought a Plus PC for my wife. She doesn't like the ported barrel. I also have a gen 1 shield. The gen 1 barrel seems to my untrained eye to be the same as the plus. Can anyone confirm this? Are the Plus barrels the same? I would like to run a non ported barrel in the Plus.

The PC barrel doesnt have ports to go along with the slide?

Or do you mean besides that?

Yes, it does. But I want to run a barrel that does not have the ports. The upward blast freaks her out.
Barrels for the plus are not out yet, but I think they are the exact same barrel both 1.0 and 2.0 use.
