Is the Shield 2 an upgrade over orginal? Does anyone have experience with both?

I had an original Shield 9 and now I have a Shield 45 (while not officially designated a 2, there wasn't a Shield 45 in the original roster, and this pistol has the upgrades that the 2nd generation models have.) The grip and trigger are much better, IMO. I also like the .45 better than the 9mm, but that's my preference.
