Awesome!! Just hold on, I'll post my PP address once I have the commitments that look like we'll get there. Hopefully this will take off quick and we can close it up quickly... just watch for my PP post.. also, we all have to make sure we gift it in PP and no mention of anything gun related...

Thank you so much!!

2001 GMC
I have the same problem, with an mp full size pistol, it looks like the pictures you posted .Customer Service said it was ammunition and not the guns fault. I received a similar letter , I opted for the replacement at reduce price. That was last summer no replacement yet. Just to let you know you not alone.

This bothers me. Last summer and still no gun? What day did you pay for the new gun?

They will take your credit card # and bill you when shipped. S&W claim production can't keep up with demand thus the long wait. I wonder if any other member have a long wait for their replacement the gun. oh the gun must be shipped to FFL holder

Ok, got an update..... we are half way there!!!!!

Come on guys, keep it coming... we've got 8 generous guys stepped up here.. 8 or 9 more... gets it done..

Thanks much...

on another note.. had to stop at my favorite LGS after work to let him know if I was buying a very nice M 19-3, 2.5"..... gave it another look and said I'll take it... so he put it in the closet for me... well I had to scan the showcase, like there may be something there that wasn't there yesterday... quick scan and suddenly an MP caught my eye.... it was like the movies, double take look and rubbing my eyes like I was seeing something.. a brandy new MP45c... a rare find in Mass... and the only MP I don't have.... well, I do now... told Mike to put the 19 back in the case... I already have several 19's... :)

I'm kinda concerned that we will do this and smith will take their dear sweet time to get it to him. How bout trying to find one we can get to him right now? I was going to send 20 but I could throw a little more.
Whacha think??

I like that idea..... I'm in for that. I'm going to try to talk with someone with a link to S&W... I live 10 minutes from there....:)

Might know one or two people.. plus, my LGS is an ex S&W gunsmith, I'll talk with him about helping us.. this is strictly a back up plan...

I do have a PayPal account. I have not used it in so long that I have forgot how to use it. If you can give me some simple instructions, I will be happy to donate.

Thanks, jblank37

it's easy... need your email address and password, sign in, go to, "send money". Type in my email, amount and then check off family and friends. Do not write any message at all. any mention of gun related stuff and they close my account. Just follow the send and let it rip.. hope that helps.. Thank you!

One thing that stood out for me, was that 2001gmc said he "couldn't hit the broad side of a barn" (a good southern expression). That leads me to believe there may have been some misalignment (or defective part). With the mention of a blown-out slide release, I also wondered about a partially rotated slide lock, or possible a defective slide lock. I'd like to know how all of this worked out. How about an update?

Aw, hell... I'm in for 20- I've always told the Mrs. that if 20 bucks puts me under I was in trouble long before I spent it

PM me your PP when you're ready to pull the trigger on this-

Hehehe.... That's great!! Thank you much, we appreciate your generosity. PM coming, and remember gift it to family or friend with no message or mention of gun stuff..

What a shame, but a great showing of generosity from the community. I did enjoy the derailment on page 9, though.

Very disappointed with Federal's response, but who knows without examining it myself.

If your meaning a update from me its over. Smith said not guns fault. Federal said ammo was reloads. Thats it. The only good outcome of this is what Turbo has set up and all the folks here are doing and I really cant believe its even happening. As far as Smith goes there final offer was the $320 for a new M&P pistol and $14.

Ok, looking good guys... I have $260 committed and have received $110.... so, lets get it coming... this is flying for sure ...

Thank you again for all that have committed.. I have a list here, but will keep it private for now. I plan to forward the list to James, 2001 when it is complete. I did call Kate this afternoon and left a message...

Did you get your pistol back? It belongs to you and you have a responsibility to know where it is and be able to recover it at your discretion. I strongly urge you to recover your pistol.
Fool you once shame on them, fool you twice shame on you.
I'd get my pistol back.
Rob
