I got a good deal on a used 45 Shield the other day. Got it home and did the usual clean and lube. Took it to the range yesterday and shot it with factory loads and handloads. Accuracy is excellent at 15 yards with everything I shot.

Only problem I found is sever trigger slap. My finger is still sore today after shooting 45 rounds yesterday? Is the APEX trigger the best fix for this OR the MCarbo trigger spring set? I love the accuracy of the pistol but don't care for the sore trigger finger!

Finger cots, available in office supplies sections of stores, can be a temporary solution for range use.

Might be worth the $ to put a new RSA in it since you do not know the round count.

FWIW on my original 9mm Shield I wanted the trigger to break just a little lighter and was able to get there by just replacing the factory sear with the Apex hard sear. Easy replacement dropped right in with no fitting

I got not "trigger slap" but a trigger tip stabbing right on the index finger nerve from a Colt Detective Special years ago. I loved the gun, hated the trigger tip. I have no problem with the Shield 45.
