I think some are forgetting the purpose behind the design of the Shield. It isn't really much smaller than the 9c until you take into account it's thickness. When you decide to design a gun as thin as possible it can no longer be ambi. Take for example the thumb safety on the Shield as compared to the thumb safety of my 9C. The thumb safety of the Shield protrudes far less. I am ambidextrous. As a child I did whatever felt right to me. I shoot pool left handed. I used to shoot rifles and shotguns left handed and handguns right handed. While in my thirties I discovered I am right eye dominant so I taught myself to shoot rifles and shotguns right handed. When I was shooting rifles and shotguns left handed, all of the shooting I did was with right handed weapons. I adapted. For years Ruger absolutely refused to build any left handed rifles. By the way, guess whether Bill Ruger is right or left handed. How many of you have shot a single action Colt or Ruger revolver? You do realize these are built as left handed guns don't you? You must shift the gun to your left hand and open the loading gate with your right hand and load them. While I understand the fact the Shield was designed primarily with the right handed shooter in mind, I also understand the right handed shooter comprises a much bigger portion of the market than the left. How many semi-automatic weapons actually eject to the left? If they don't do this they really aren't left handed. Adapt and conquer, Please. These small weapons aren't going to be ambi.
