I was able to get to the range today to fire my brand new Shield. Fired about 230 rounds of mixed range ammo. 75 rds of Winchester White Box, 50 rds of American Eagle, 100 rds of Freedom Munitions and 8 rds of federal HST 147gr. It went bang every time with no problems at all.

Shooting skills need improvement. Most of my shots were going left of point of aim. Some were directly left, a lot were left and down, and some were left and up. At the end my groupings were really scattered. Probably because I was getting tired. Still a good day.

230 rounds in one days is ALOT of shooting. If you shoot too many rounds in one setting you can let your form relax and may be reinforcing bad habits. Muscle memory can be tough to break. 50 rounds concentrating on your shooting form and calling it a day would be better.

I don't shoot much at the moment. The most I have shot in the past is about 100 rds a sessions. I'll be eventually looking to take some classes as I'm a novice, and know I'm most likely not using proper stances and or grips.

BTW, I was at an outdoor range with the shooting box of each lance divided by a screen. 2 lanes over a gentleman was shooting a S&W 500 Mag. Talk about a big loud gun. I was easily feeling the pressure wave of each shot. The guy said a box of 20 rds cost him $60. Yikes!

I find I have to shoot my shield different from say, my Glocks. A lot of accuracy comes from trigger control.

For example, on a Glock you want to use mid way though between your finger tip and joint. I find on my shield I get more accuracy using the joint in my finger, more like a revolver.

Dry practice is what improves your shooting. That is where you will hone your skills, not at the range.
