First off this is my first post here. I have been lurking since before I purchased my first Shield and learned quite a bit in the process. The shields are not my first S&W. My very first pistol was a S&W Model 639. Great shooting gun at that.
Now for my first question.
I have two M&P Shields both in 9mm. The top one was born on July 9, 2015. The bottom one was born on October 21, 2015. Does anyone know why the top one has an L with two dots and the bottom one has nothing in this area but milled out dots below. It almost looks like braille. I realize none of this affects the way they shoot. I am just curious as there has to be a logical reason and though possibly trivial this kind of thing intrigues me. I would think mass production would not allow much deviation.
I plan on showing my buddies and telling them my new Shield has a performance balanced slide to make it shoot straighter and ask them if their Glocks have this feature!
I wonder how many will be calling a gun smith to find out how to balance their slides.
