shield barrel

So I picked up this shield the other day and as soon as i got hit home I began cleaning it. thats when I noticed this barb around the end of the barrel on the inside. Since S&W coustomer service is closed until the 13th I thought I would ask you guys your thoughts? the only thing I've done is clean it, it hasn't been shot except by S&W. No, its not loaded.

Most likely cosmetic only. My 9mm has some roughness and looks that way but shoots supper accurate. Smith will replace it if it bothers you. I say shoot it and enjoy.

Almost looks like a backwards crown. I'd like to see it in person.
