Shield EZ .380

I own the new equalizer and it's flawless eats each and every round in my magazines. The springs area super tough to load in the beginning but after 1500 rounds it's getting easier I highly recommend the equalizer if you can handle a 9mm round. It comes with a maglula to help load the magazines.

So, I assume you are putting Gorilla Tape on the top of the follower to give it more grip on the last cartridge???

Either that or scuff the follower with sandpaper.

I have seen another thread on AR-15.Com where the followers were modified & wondered about that too.
These are not my photos & I have not done this to mine BUT thought about it...

A lot of work for a faulty system....Sand paper and duct tape fixes everything! We did our homework and by-passed any potential issues with the EZ 380. My wife bought herself a Glock 42... No issues and couldn't be happier. Smith should be at the fore of these issues but apparently haven't been so. Shame on Smith. Good platform, but some issues remain...

I have an early model, and have 8 or so mags, and never had an issue. usually shoot Federal ammo

My wife has a 380 EZ and we experienced the last round stove pipe. I cut 3 or 4 shallow groves across the follower and solved the problem. Saw that method recommended by someone on this forum.

You mean to tell me you would trust your life to that piece of duct tape?

Well, I never said that. I said that the gun is fun to shoot and having put a piece of Gorilla Tape on 5 of my magazines and having scuffed the other 5 of my magazines with sandpaper I have not experienced the 'last round stove-pipe' in the last 1300 rounds fired through my 380 EZ.

Finally got to the range with it. Not a single failure of any kind. Accurate enough for up close self-defense work, groups in about a 4" circle at 7 yards. I found an EZ 9 at the LGS yesterday with an asking price of $324, so under $300 with my discount. I'm debating taking the 380 in and doing a swap. That would bring her gun in line with everything else we have, making 9mm standard across the board.
