Shield grip options?

Got my new Shield last week and one of the first things I noticed, is a pretty slippery grip. My fs 9 and M&P 22 don't seem to be as much of an issue. I suppose it seems worse on the Shield because the grip is narrower.

What have you guys done to yours? Talon? Stippling? Just looking for options and opinions. Thanks!

No but the valve stem gets in the way.

I have a Talon on my xDs and a Traction Grip on one of my Shields. I think the Talon is a little bit grippier but don't like how you have to trim it. The Shield grip is one size so should be able to install without having to trim the overlap

After installing the Talon sandpaper grip on my M&P 22 and shooting a couple of steel matches with them, I really,really like them but I don't think They would be good for a carry gun. That's why I just ordered the rubber type for my M&P 9 fs and my shield I'll let you know how I like them once there installed.

I just installed a Hogue Handall Jr. grip on my Shield 9, and it works great. The original grip is a little small for me and just a tad bit too slippery. Adding the rubber pull-over grip really helped. Paid just under $8 for it in Amazon.

It's a little difficult to pull it over the pistol grip initially. But once on, it fits and feels good. I trimmed a little bit of the bottom after installation (where the grip touches the magazine), because I like to have the Hogue grip a little lower to provide more space for my middle finger between the bottom of the trigger guard and the bump on the Hogue grip.

I just installed the Talons on both my .40 Shield and FS 9mm. Havent shot either one yet but they do feel good in the hand and no issues with carrying it on the shield all day. Cant wait to test them out this weekend at the range!

I got the Talons last Saturday and put them on right away. They feel GREAT! In fact, I will be ordering a set for my other two M&P's.

Finally got to the range with the Talons grips and I love em! They really improve the grip on the .40 shield.

I've had the Talon rubberized grips for several months. I love the feel of them very much. They have changed the entire feel of the gun and increased my accuracy since I don't have to reset my grip after every shot or two. Looks are second to none IMO. If anything, they enhance the styling of the grip.

My shield is my every day concealed carry firearm. It goes with me hiking, fishing, motorcycle riding, same as most everyone who carries daily. The Talon grips held up very well for several months through much abuse that daily carry guns experience. It's been dropped in sand, soaked in rain and sweat, exposed to solvents from cleaning, extreme heat from being out in the blistering summer heat.

Only recently have the grips slowly began to peel off the gun. I've slowly been cutting away small pieces of the grip that I was unable to re-apply in order to keep the Talon grips from peeling further.

I'm debating between ordering another set of Talon grips or just buying a Pachamayr grip glove since it may be able to withstand the abuse a little better.

I do highly recommend the Talon grips regardless. I received a hand written "thank you" note along with my grips after I ordered them. That to me is a great show of caring about the customer.

I have found rubbery grips to interfere with pulling my shirt up in order to draw the gun. You may want to test any grip you install to be sure clothing doesn't drag on it.
