shield in tupperware?

I prefer paying for cardboard rather than plastic. I never used the original package after it gets home.

I agree. My FS M&P .45 came in a plastic box and it's nothing to brag about. The hinges are so poorly made that the box came apart more often then it just opened. The box is in a closet somewhere.

I prefer the plastic cause if i buy a new gun i know that box is gonna stand the test of time.

I don't have I Shield, but all of my recent M&P purchases came in a solid plastic blue S&W case. Why would the send the Shield in a box? I understand the case costs a little more, but I use the cases occasionally.

Only cardboard boxes for the Shield. S&W non-cardboard boxes are plastic, not tupperware in the sense of the previous version of the boxes in which Glocks were shipped.

You can tell if the box is original if it has a label with the details of your pistol and serial number, etc.

This. I wish more manufactures would go to small cardboard boxes. The Springfield XDM/S cases I have are suitcases that take up lots of room in the closet. They could also leave out the mag holders and cheapo holster if it would reduce the cost.

Unless they start shipping them in a Pelcase I'm fine with cardboard. The last thing I need is one more OEM gun case I will never use.

For what it's worth, the plastic Kel-Tec P11/PF9 box fits perfectly. :-)

Who gives a good flying **** about a plastic box? This is comical, only a fool would store their gun in one considering they're moisture magnets. I keep mine in case I have to send it back for warranty work or decide to sell, but to me it's a box that gets stored away and never used or looked at. Shield cardboard box works for me, it's smaller which means cheaper to ship if I ever need to.

They do. You actually paid extra for that holster and mag pouch combo. It's part of the range/carry kit.

Most M&Ps come with nothing. They sell them with super cheap plastic boxes because people believe they are getting some great thing in that box. It's all about marketing. The Shield was designed as a carry gun from the ground up. Maybe S&W thinks Shield owners will be carrying their guns all the time and are therefore less likely to be swayed by a useless plastic box.

If the box is really important. I say we all start CC our Shield in the box. Can u imagine how jealous those Springfield owners would be of us then.

Hey look im cool, i have an IWB Box for my Shield.

The only plastic boxes im interested in. Are the ones that dont have a plastic pistol on the inside.

Are you talking about the M&P or XDM/S? I was talking about the XDM/S where they put those ridiculous holsters and mag pouches in the gigantic case that almost nobody uses.

Ah, since this is about the M&P I was talking about the M&P. I see now what you meant. Not being a XD owner, I didn't know they came with that stuff.

+1

My pistols go in Bore Stores before being put into the safe. Helps protect from safe rash and never an issue with rust.

All my OEM shipping boxes go into storage after I bring them home, and if anything the cardboard box takes up less room to store than a plastic one. All it basically has to do is get it to the end user without getting damaged.
