Shield PD ammo

I vary...most of the time Hornady Critical Defense 115g; other times Gold Dot, and other times Fiocchi 115g XTPHP. My rule is 100 have had to fire from the pistol flawlessly before I carry them....so what I'm carrying depends on what I can afford enough of that is available. I am of the school of thought that says if I hit the guy/guys with 1 or 2 modern HP rounds, they'll quit...if not they'll catch the rest of my two magazines.

You won't be disappointed with the Hornady Critical Defense.

I selected the 135gr Hornady Critical DUTY for its enhanced barrier penetration capabilities, but also have boxes of Critical Defense, Gold Dot 147gr Law Enforcement, and Winchester Ranger T. Any of them would get the job done in a SD situation.
Without sounding like I am condemning your choice, why do you need barrier penetration in your SD gun? It's not like you will be shooting at BGs through windshields and car doors. The little reading I have done suggest that these rounds will overpenatrate and/or not expand in a typical SD situation. And that were specifically designed for LE.
Just curious is all.
I'm with the guys who say if it makes a hole and feeds reliably it will do the trick

Usually Reliable Stock

problem is that they are kind of unobtainium (cant find them anywhere regardless of price. It is kind of like .22lr ammo 2 years ago.

Try Ammunition Depot. I have two boxes (50rnds) on their way.
If they're out of stock on something there's a button to press to leave your email address and they'll notify you. I think they still have them. (Did yesterday when I ordered)
G'luck
