SHIELD PLUS 3.1 TRIGGER QUESTION

I got my new Shield Plus last week and took it out for the first time on Saturday, after a good cleaning of course. So far I love the gun, and plan to use it as EDC, however I have come across an issue with the trigger.

The trigger is fantastic, however there is a small but noticeable amount of lateral wiggle, it's not rock solid and once in a while that wiggle allows the trigger to move left since I shoot right handed, and in turn it gets stuck and does not allow to pull straight back to fire at all. My trigger pull is fine with other guns, as they do not have this side to side movement.

Does this sound like an actual issue, or just something I have to live with? I emailed S&W but haven't gotten a response.

If your trigger moves laterally to the point that it doesn't work at all, that definitely sounds like a factory repair is in order. I have three M&Ps, a 1.0 Shield 9, a 2.0 Shield 45, and a 1.0 M&P 40c with a combined 29,000 rounds, and I've never had a trigger move laterally to the point of failure. Besides your email, I strongly suggest calling S&W's customer service line and explaining your problem. I've found their customer service reps to be very responsive, and they may be able to expedite the repairs.

Oddly enough, I got a response from S&W today, they want me to return it to them for evaluation, they are sending me a paid return kit.

Excellent! Recently, others on the Forum have reported two week turnarounds for their M&Ps. Let's hope yours is that quick.

I can confirm that my Shield Plus trigger does NOT move laterally at all, so definitely sounds like sending it back is the best bet
