I recently picked up the Shield Plus bugout special after carrying the Shield 1.0 for years. I guess I got the one that did not go through QC! Dead front night sight and trigger pin backing out after 100 rounds. Also, got 2 mags that don't drop free. Sent it back to S&W today via FEDEX. I know they will make it right. Just disappointing, as I was looking forward to carry it.

So I also recently got this special, and it was advertised on Palmetto State Armory. They sent me ZERO magazines for the gun, and cited the fact that I live in MD as the reason. I would understand about the three 13 rd mags, however they didn't even send me the two 10 rd mags that should have come with it. Long story short, they would not send me ANY mags and basically told me All I could do is return it (after being on hold for 45 minutes mind you) Anyway, rant over. Terrible customer service though for future reference.

I DO really like the gun however, sorry you ended up getting one that wasn't QC very well. When you do get a good one back though you won't be disappointed, little thing is a mini sniper IMO

I also had a Dead Front sight and sent it back to the mothership for repair or upgrade to fiber optics. I put 200 rounds through it with no issues the two days I had it. We'll see what the turnaround time is as they said 4 to 6 weeks.

Let me explain how this works. I work for several FFL's here in Florida doing gun shows. We can have 100 round mags here if we want. First of all, 99% of gun stores are too small to purchase directly from the MFR. We buy from gun distributors. And they call us all the time telling us what they have. We can take it or leave it. So my boss may need some Glock 17's which normally come with 17 round mags. But the rep will tell us the Glock 17's he has come with 10 round mags because they were supposed to be sold in NY. But all the FFL's in Commie states have all they need. My boss will tell the salesman "I'm in Florida, & everyone wants their Glock 17 to have a 17 round mag". The distributor will reply, we're all out of the SKU # that comes with 17 round mags, so if you want Glock 17's today, they're coming with 10 round mags. Take it, or leave it. So we take the Glock 17's with 10 round mags. The customer buys the gun, & the next day calls us up to complain there's no 17 round mags. We reply that's how we bought it, as the SKU # for the 17 round package isn't available. The customer screams "you didn't tell me the gun came with 10 round mags", to which we reply "you didn't ask, & before you paid we handed you the box, & told you to carefully inspect it before paying. And you gave your nod of approval to complete the deal. Oh, by the way, we do sell Glock factory 17 round mags if you need any". We get AK's with folders that don't fold, with welded on muzzle devices, & other features that should have only been sold in Commie states. But we sometimes have to take them to sell, because the alternative is to get nothing. So in your case, they didn't have the correct SKU # in stock to comply with your states' laws, but they did remove the offending hi cap mags from your gun. I see this all the time, especially with the brisk sales of the last few years. A perfect example is the Keltec PMR30. From time, to time we get them in yellow. We don't like yellow, but it's take them, or wait 6 months to get them in black. It's just the way it's been the last few years. GARY

Why is it as a paying customer, "You didn't ask" smacks of sharp practice, just like "I was only obeying orders". "Let me explain how this works" is almost as bad, because it doesn't work.

Gun dealers have been playing fast and loose with magazines for years. It's about damned time they got called on it.

I can't speak for other dealers. Only the place where I work. GARY

beef You can sew over it or remember that it's a production handgun and occasionally a problem firearm gets out the door.

While your explanation is appreciated, it does nothing to explain how withholding ALL MAGAZINES works. I believe I prefaced my response by saying I'm aware of the magazine "ban" that my state has, however when you ADVERTISE two 10 rd mags and three 13 rd mags you ATLEAST expect to receive the 10 rd mags. I would argue that a good company would actually send you five 10 rd mags instead just to be fair to that customer.

I wouldn't be as mad if they had any kind of customer service. They human I got on the phone legitimately tried to explain to me that the mags were "10+1" and couldn't be sent because of that. How stupid do they think we are? When I explained that +1 means in the chamber of the gun and always has been(not a hard concept to understand) I was basically immediately shut down and told there is nothing they can do to help.

I'm sorry but that level of disregard for your customer base is unacceptable, and downright disrespectful. What is really a shame is this is the first time I have ever had an issue with PSA, They always have some good prices on things. I would rather pay more for the same product through a company that gives a sh*t about their customers.

Exactly. You hit the nail right on the head.

I have also sent my Shield plus back. They received it the first week of Oct. with an estimated turn around of 5-7 weeks. Mine was having an issue with light strikes with three different ammo brands, same ammo would work flawlessly in my M&P M2.0 compact. I have read some negative experiences with S&W warranty repairs that have me concerned that my issue will not be resolved, I am hoping that it is fixed when it returns though.

That's awful customer service. I had an FFL and would never attempt that kind of sale.

Got it back Friday. S&W turned it around in 2 weeks - not bad. They replaced the sights, trigger, and mag internals for 2 mags. Everything seems good. Hope the trigger pin stays in place after my next range session.

I'm glad to hear they fixed the issue quick for you. You won't be disappointed, I have shot about 300 RDs through it now without issues and it feels GOOD to shoot, especially with the 13 RD mags

It would be nice if mine comes back fixed that quickly. Cheers to S&W for having it done in half the time estimated.

Just sent my Shield plus OR back today. I noticed what look like to me machining flaws inside the barrel. I don't have a bore scope, but I was able to get some pics and magnify it that way. It looks like four specks of dirt, until you look close. Anyway they told me to send it back after looking at the pics. I'm hoping this is a quick turnaround.

I just received the M&P "bugout" special. I always make it a point to watch videos on YouTube... Read the advertisement thoroughly... Read the reviews... Read the Q&A if available.

The Special is what it is unless you live in a State with mag restrictions. People ask "Can you replace the mags with ones that are legal in my State?" The answer is always a resounding NO! and justifiably so.

Gun dealers are aware of the various restrictions that States have. If you order online the good ones will remove the restricted items before shipping. If they don't then the FFL is responsible for their removal and what they do with them is their business other than they can't sell them InState.

It is our duty as an individual to research things... Ask questions... And be satisfied with the answers before completing the transaction.

I have purchased pistols with restricted magazines in states without those limits. I have seen them advertised more times. Any decent shop I've been to has it clearly marked in large lettering that they have the 10rd mags, and the salesperson will explicitly confirm that with the customers when they get it. Its such an easy win to provide good customer service, and hopefully those customers learned to avoid shops like yours for the price of a few 17rd mags.

Actually we sell more guns than most shops at the show because our prices are substantially lower than the other vendors. While they talk with each other before the show agreeing to keep prices high on certain popular guns of the month, we don't get involved with price fixing, & sell many guns at 10% over cost. When I go to the john at the show, I actually receive flack from a few vendors that we're selling our guns too cheap. The owner who is 82 now is planning to turn in his FFL, but has made more $ than God over the years, & just bought a Challenger Hellcat. So on the rare occasion we have to purchase glock 17's with ten round mags because that's the only way to buy them, we sell them exactly as we get them. It doesn't happen often, but from time to time it does. He's been doing this for 40+ years, and he does sell for less than anybody else. GARY

Glad to hear S&W has such a quick turn around these days.
As for Palmetto, I will never shop with them again. Shady business practices and terrible customer service.

And yet Atlantic Firearms seems to have the same policy about not shipping hi cap mags with firearms to mag restricted states, & not substituting to lo cap mags. GARY

Important Magazine Information
Atlantic Firearms follows all state regulations regarding the sale of high capacity magazines. Due to multiple states and cities now enforcing various magazine restrictions and more coming we will not ship magazines that are restricted in your area with firearms to the states listed below. If the mag that comes with the firearm is not legal in your state or city the magazine will be removed from the shipment. We do not offer custom magazine requests to swap out, ship to another state, refund, pinning of mag, substitutions, dealer approval or other. Hopefully we will see changes to these laws and violations to our second amendment rights. We apologize for this but we simply cannot accommodate each and every magazine request with over 30 different laws, regulations and restrictions impacting states, cities and local jurisdictions throughout the country. It is the customers responsibility to be informed of your local laws prior to completing your purchase. Atlantic Firearms is not responsible for any issues that may arise with magazines shipped to you or your FFL dealer that may not be legal in your area due to a change in current laws.
It is your responsibility to be familiar with your current local gun laws BEFORE placing your order. Please feel free to email us with questions you may have.
By placing an order with Atlantic Firearms you are acknowledging and agreeing to all Terms and Conditions outlined in the Terms And Conditions section.

Shot about 150 rounds today and the trigger pin started to back out again. Took a punch to it when I got home and pushed it flush. Not too happy about it, but I will have to include the trigger pin piece as part of the cleaning process.

I sent my Gen 2 Glock 19 into Glock last December. I mailed it on 12/20. They got it on 12/22 and called me to ask what I wanted and what was the issue. No issue. Just a 30 year old police gun that needed new night sights and a once over. I had it back in my hands on 12/24, and they replaced virtually all the internal and shipped it back in a factory hard case.
