Shield Plus mag carrier?

shield mags are so slim and short you might as well just stitch some elastic straps onto your gun belt and put them in those

And here's another perspective since we've gone off topic about finding a mag carrier and have delved into whether to carry extra ammo or not. My last word on the topic is do whatever you feel is appropriate for you- I'll take real world experiences for $500 Alex. S&W Fan is out.

depends on the gun. high quality metal mags in an m&p 2.0 or equivalent? just carry a compact or full size for 16 to 18 capacity. no need for spares. and if he makes you drop the mag in the struggle and you can only shoot him once? good, now no one has the ability to shoot but he is wounded, and you still have a bludgeon.

for his 1911s and and glocks with notoriously janky and flimsy mags prone to failures and malfunctions, or various small capacity mouse guns, then yeah, he has a point.

Another vote for Magholder. I have three for various pistols, and they are the most comfortable and concealable I've found.

Ok, I lied-I'm not done here LOL. Outside of ignoring a non-helpful poster I do appreciate the other responses. I will only add I have had a real life situation, be it a long time ago, where I found it comforting to be able to reload a partially empty pistol with a full mag while I waited for the cavalry to show up (and that was with-GASP-a 1911).

So here's what I bought and used at a recent "fun match" with our carry pistols. The Blade-Tech Eclipse double stack double mag holder (purchased for use with a Glock 19) works well enough for range work but can't adjust it quite tight enough where I'd be comfortable using it for carry of the Plus mags. However I ordered a carrier from Tulster and it works great. Snug yet adjustable tension to get a smooth draw.

Thanks again for the constructive response. There now I'm done :D

Another vote for the Mitch Rosen mag holder.
The formed fit is superior to other leather products in the price range, and it has a kydex like snap fit especially holsters. Worth another $30ish more to get something comfortable to wear.
