A couple issues with my Shield Plus SC have recently surfaced. It will not lock the slide back when the mag is empty every time (I made sure I was not bumping the slide release button)

And also, sometimes, in the middle of going through a mag, it will not chamber the next round, but does eject the spent brass.

Anyone have either of these problems before?

Many semi-auto's use the magazine follower to push up the slide lock and many failures to feed are due to a faulty magazine, therefore the magazine may be causing both issues. Have you tried another magazine?

I have many mags & doesn't matter which mag, so must be the pistol :(

Run all these mags in my Shield Plus PC 4" too & that pistol never skips a beat

I tale back what I said. I inserted the 15 & 13 round mags I have & some of the 15 rounders work fine, but 2 of them would not lock the slide back.

If you take the mags apart, you can see that the 13 round and 15 round mags use the same spring. I have read about using a replacement spring for the 15 rounders. The S15 10 coil spring from Shield Arms seems to be an immediate and satisfying fix. Use at your own risk.
You can also look at the spring tension on the slide lock lever. A little pinch with the pilers and it will work easier.
Hope this helps.
I did not suggest that you were unknowingly riding the lever with your thumb.
I did not tell you to clean the pistol.
I did not say that you were limp-wristing the little gun.

Kind Regards,
