Just showed up on my YouTube

Looks like a Shield Plus with redesigned and extended grip so that there is now a 13 and 15 round option only. 3.6" barrel. Plus a rail.

Waiting on a real set of specifications on this. Their listed on S&W's web site, but when I go to the page, I get 404 errors. Oops. I'm sure this will get fixed shortly, but it's not a goo look.

Could be interesting competition to the P365XL and Hellcat Pro. I like a gun with a manual safety, and this offers one. But it's the Shield too small, hard to use variety. The M&P safety design in much better.

I always carry my shield Plus comp with the 13 rounder.
So I’m gonna wait for the comp version. But I likely.
I haven’t looked/tried, but can the 13 rounder mags for the shield plus..can you remove that spacer at the bottom?
I like the 4” barrel on the plus comp to be honest.

It looks great to me since it adds to the Shield Plus, a rail, is optic ready, and with or without a safety.

Not sure how the cut of the optic will channel gas away? That chamber hole is still there. Seems like that's where the gas comes from?

I do like the longer grip and grip texture design of the new sheild X but wait for the beta testers to decide how reliable it is before running out and buying one early on . Surely s&w will add a compensated model too .

I am a M&P full size and compact fan thru the years but never liked the different shield models or other micro 9mm enough to invest in one .

After others beta tested the P365 and XL models for a couple years my wife bought and carry's a P365xl with a wilson grip module added so the factory skinny grip not feels more like her thin gripped kimber ultra .

After 48 years of concealed carry I bought my first keeper 9mm about two years ago after buying a m&p 2.0 4" compact , added a green dot optic and practice with it but still a 2006 full size 40sw is my edc .

I did shot a friends hellcat pro a few months back and liked it so I ended up buying a hellcat pro comp . Dang if its not a good option for me to be an AIWB carry and with its 15 round standard mag that has a longer grip area over the shield comp for only 2ths more height . Same weight and shorter length .

Not sure when I CC it but I'm a well used up 69 so the day I carry a my m&p compact and heck kitty 9mm are getting closer . I have a green dot for the heck kitty too but not needed yet but I'll continue to practice with the 9mm M&P and holosun optic for now .

From what I can tell they changed the shape of the loaded chamber indicator. The current one looks like a crater, with half dishing the top of the barrel and half dishing the top of the breech face. The "clear" one looks like the eliminated the dish at the top of the breech face so the only part that's scooped out is at the top of the barrel. So I guess that would help direct the gasses up instead of channeling them back into the optic.

So far I like the look of the Shield X. Looks to cure the only issue I have with my Plus, the too long front to back and oddly shaped oval back strap.
