If I would put ammo for sale on an internet auction site could I ship it through the mail?
They always ask if your package contains anything hazardous. I don't think ammo would be unless you put it in a gun but the USPS may have a different opinion.
What say you?

Ammo cannot be mailed. It can be sent by common carrier, like FedEx or UPS, with the appropriate notification on the outside of the package(ORM-D).

So I take it to UPS and put ORM D on the package, should I ask anything from the buyer and the destination state laws?

This may become more trouble than it's worth.

UPS will ship if you affix the ORM-D labels or write on the box on a couple sides. FEDX will not ship unless you go through their HAZ MAT training. UPS will only ship from a main hub..no satellite shops. Many UPS counter employess do not know the rules within UPS so have the UPS HAZ MAT 1-800 number with you so you can call them if you get any problems.

Lot's of factually correct info here. But the most pertinent information has been left out.

What is the ammo and what do you want fer it?

Don't forget to draw a rectangle around the ORM-D. Believe it or not, it is required!
