Like many American companies, Smith and Wesson, Colt, Buck, et al license their name to companies to sell Chinese knockoffs of wildly varying quality. Some have the quality of a gas station knife, others not.
These kinds of blades I do not cry over if lost or broken like I would my 1984 vintage Olean, NY American made KABAR USMC fighting knife...if I lost or broke that, I would be picking up rocks in the flowerbed and humbling myself to the bugs beneath it!
They fit a niche...and that's it. The real losers are the American companies that let el cheapo pot metal knives useless for anything but letter opening to wear their name.
Anything for a quick buck (no pun intended) I suppose.
