I found the Op Sol to be unacceptable in my Shockwave.

Thanks for posting, that is an interesting way to address the issue of the Mini shells. But not for me. I like the cleaner look of the OPSol. Unlike your experience, I have had zero problems with the OPSol in my Shockwave. I have put about 150 rounds through it without a single feeding problem. Granted, 150 rounds is not a lot, but those Aguila Mini-Shells are scarce as hen's teeth, even online. I should also note, they are expensive when you do find them. JMHO

First thing I thought of when reading your post.... 150 MiniShells is a LOT considering price and availability.

Picked one up today. One of those things you don't quite need, but I was compelled to own. I tweaked mine with a pic rail, and a inexpensive Tru Glow Micro Tac Laser on top. Wrapped the "Beak" in some cushy baseball bat wrap which worked out rather well. Have the Opsol adapter on order, but the mini shells were nowhere to be found today. Not the sort of thing I would take to my local rifle club, so I will need to wait for an invite to some of my buddies private ranges to give it a proper run.

I've held one, very cool, would like to buy one, but not legal in mass. Barrel has to be 18+ inches to bolt, and must be over 30" long I believe... I have a 20 gauge mossberg with a 19" barrel, and a 12 gauge mossberg with an 18.5" barrel... they'll have to suffice for now.

I've heard that the grip on the shockwaves is much better than a standard pistol grip, and had debated buying a stock off eBay and making one for my Mossberg 500 ATP which was the precursor to the 590...

Yeah I don't understand it either, but heck I jumped in with the rest of them when my local big gun shop sent out a late night email that they were in. I ordered it half asleep and will go get it this morning. Not sure why I did other than I want to have as many things that make the non gun supporter squirm......probably not a good reason but for the price how could I not have one in the arsenal.

I bought a hundred buckshot minishells when I bought the gun. The mini's have been around a long time but the devices to facilitate reliable feeding like the Op Sol have been around how long? I'm thinking all the minishells languished on store shelves do to low acceptance. Now with the introduction of SG's like the Raptor maybe Aduila will start making them again. They still list them on their website

I kept mine pretty simple. They did just announce a 20 Ga. But with the mini-shell option, I do not see the point.
