Just wanted to say that this gun is awesome when it works properly. I dumped 25 rnds as fast as i could pull the trigger today.

Usually i average 2 rounds/25 that fail to feed and get hit on the side of the case.

What is the cause of the FTF's? doesnt seem to matter which ammo i use. Winchester HV's, 333 bulk pack, wildcats, or federal bulk all do the same.

im gonna try some mini mags if i can find some tomorrow.

Hey man, there is a specific way the mag is to be loaded search it on here you'll see what I mean hope this helps but ill bet that is your prob.

i do make sure they alternate sides, gettin pretty good at loading these things quickly and keeping them staggered.

Is it allways the top few rds that jam or more towards the bottom of the mag

i would say its rare that it happens in the first 5 or last 5 rounds...i'll start paying more attention. its about everytime you get in a rhythm.

id prob. Go get some higher vel. Ammo somethin in the 1400 fps range and run it through it.. if your problem goes away you have a timing prob. And it will get better as the gun breaks in... if it gets worse you have a feed prob. And it will need a trip to s&w... or atleast that's my .02

dang, i have alot of the xpert hv's...found them at a great price locally. good thing the buckmark eats anytype of ammo.

what are some options for 1400FPS ammo...around here most of the high velocity stuff is in the 1200 range

Id try some mini mags or stingers.. aquila makes some faster movers..it don't really matter what they r as long as they r something people on here know that will shoot and hotter than what u got.. if it is your prob. After 500 rds or so you may be able to go back to that ammo... new guns have burrs and tol. Prob. as they work together they smooth out makeing them run with less effort... that's where id start anyway.. its the easiest thing to check

if you can answer that you will have a full time job at Smith and Wesson for life.

LOL!

Ya know... S&W has got to know what the exact problem(s) is. I think the real problem is that it isn't easy or cheap for them to remedy... so they aren't. Otherwise, new rifles would not be failing nor would returned repaired rifles fail again. Eventually, and maybe as we speak, S&W will be cranking out rifles that are 'Updated to Reliable Spec". Until then....

I hope thats whats up, and I have a feeling that is the case, I asked around at a few places this past week for the threaded barrel type and no one had one locally, 100 mile radius, and one dealer said that they hadn't gotten any for a few weeks and thought maybe because they were updating them. who knows though

wont get to shoot them til tomorrow but the cci mini mags load with much less effort than all other types of ammo ive tried. loaded 2 mags flawlessly just seem to fall right in place. the winchesters i have to take a few out and reload them now and then

natchezss has the aguila super maximums in stock but is out of the interceptors, stingers, and velocitors. guess that makes my choice easy. too bad i cant find some of these locally, shipping is killer

Shipping is always an issue with ammo, though not so much with 22 LR. You didn't say where you're from. Try to find a retailer close by and the shipping will hurt much less. Order in bulk or combine orders with friends, thereby lowering your costs that way.

im from michigan, i just found some locally at a hole in the wall ammo shop. thanks for the links carmel

update: 50 rounds of stingers with no loading issues, 1 round of 50 aquilas supermax failed to load (bolt did not seat properly), cci mini mags 2 fail to loads.

after i shot a mag of stingers the bulk ammo ive been having issues with went flawlessly. hopefully the gun is breaking in.
